CALENDULA EXTRACT

Obtained from the flowers of Calendula officinalis, a grassy plant belonging to the Esteraceae family. It is rich in triterpenes, flavonoids, polysaccharides, carotenes and phytosterols. Its outstandingly soothing properties can be attributed to its unsaponifiable component consisting of flavonoids and mucilage.  Its ability to stimulate immune defenses can be traced to its polysaccharide content. Since it contains carotenes, Calendula Officinalis Extract is also recommended as a protection against sunburn and other damage caused by exposure to the sun.
